Shea Butter is, as the name suggests, a buttery substance that comes from the kernal of Karite nut trees, found in the Savannah regions of West and Central Africa. It is one of Africa’s most sustainable resources and has been used for centuries in Africa for its moisturising and healing properties to protect and condition sun-damaged skin.
Anyone with dry skin knows how hard it can be to keep skin from feeling rough and uncomfortable, and looking dull and flaky. Shea Butter is a particularly effective moisturiser because it contains so many fatty acids, which are needed to retain skin moisture and elasticity (firmness).
Using a moisturiser/lotion containing Shea Butter is ideal for dry skin types because of the nourishment it provides: Vitamins A, E and F. These vitamins help maintain the skin - they are known to balance and normalise the skin and are particularly helpful for sun damaged skin. Shea butter has been used to help heal burns, sores, scars, and stretch marks as it increases skin circulation and accelerates wound healing.
It can even help prevent premature wrinkles and fine lines, help to promote cell renewal and increase circulation. The net result is that skin is protected and rejuvenated, soothed and softened and yet skin can still breathe due to its soft, butter-like texture being easily absorbed - so it won’t clog pores!
Lubatti uses Shea Butter in its Dreamy Night Cream and in its range of Deliciously Rich Body Lotions - products smelling so divine you wish they were edible. Using the Dreamy Night Cream on your face can even your skin tone and help heal any acne scars or blemishes you may have as well as promoting younger skin.
Using the Body Lotions all over your body can help heal cracked skin or flakiness on your body - elbows, knees, feet. Applying it to areas prone to any stretch marks will help to reduce the appearance of these skin imperfections, leaving you happier and more self-confident and brave enough to reveal more of yourself for Summer.
For once there is a butter we recommend to spread everyday and instead of being a risk to your health and your looks, it will utterly improve them. Go nuts with Shea Butter and experience the feeling of sheer brilliant skin!
